Documents
- Last examination marksheet or roll details (the system checks the roll number and name against board records)
- Income certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority for your area
- Passport-size photograph and signature
- Bank account in the applicant’s own name; payments cannot go to a parent’s account
- Admission or enrolment proof
Deadline
The official application page I read listed opening dates for a past session (12 July 2023 for fresh and renewal, 26 September 2023 for K3) but no closing date, and the homepage had no current notice when I checked. Check the portal for the current deadline and dates.
Common mistakes
- Wrong last-exam roll number or a name that does not match the board record, which gives an ‘Invalid Last Exam Roll No.’ error.
- Weak passwords. It needs at least 8 characters with upper and lower case, a number and a special character.
- Uploading files above the size limit.
- Forgetting to click Submit Application.
- Choosing the wrong directorate or course. Cancel and reapply if verification is not complete.
- Falsifying income. Wrong information can lead to disqualification from future government scholarships.
SVMCM rewards good marks and modest family income. Keep your income certificate and board details ready, apply in the announced window, and follow your institute’s verification.
