Siliguri is the gateway to North Bengal, Sikkim and the hills, and many families here look for a school with a bigger campus than a city flat can offer. Over the last two decades a number of CBSE schools have opened on the outskirts, along Sevoke Road, in Matigara and around Champta and Pradhan Nagar, and some of them offer boarding as well as day schooling. There is also an older, ICSE-board option within the town itself.
This is a shortlist, not a ranking. We began with the official board directories (the CBSE SARAS directory and the CISCE school locator), checked each school against its own website, and kept the ones we could confirm. Eight schools are included for 2026, in no order of merit. Where a detail could not be confirmed on an official page, we say so and send you to the school’s own site.

School-by-school notes
Don Bosco School, Siliguri
Don Bosco School is the one ICSE/ISC option here that we could confirm on both the CISCE locator, where it is listed as a co-educational day school, and its own website. The school describes itself as a Salesian day institution founded in 1973, offering ICSE and ISC education from LKG to Class XII, rooted in the values of St. John Bosco.
Admission note: The school is a day school, so there is no hostel. Check the Admissions section of the official site for forms and dates.
Delhi Public School, Siliguri
Delhi Public School Siliguri is listed in the CBSE directory at senior secondary level, and its website describes it as a CBSE school. The site also mentions an IB offering, so ask the school which programmes apply to which classes. Its home page carries session opening dates, a founder’s tribute, and sections for hostel, transport and fee disclosures, which helps with planning.
Admission note: When we checked, the school’s website said that admissions for Pre-Nursery to Class IX and Class XI open from 1 October 2026. Dates may change, so confirm on the Admission page.
G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri
Part of the G.D. Goenka group, this school describes itself as a CBSE-affiliated K-12 school set against the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. The CBSE directory lists it at senior secondary level. Its site mentions a separate hostel block on the same campus.
Admission note: There is a 2026-27 admission page with contact numbers and office hours listed. Call ahead to confirm availability for your child’s class.
Birla Divya Jyoti
Birla Divya Jyoti is part of the Sarala Birla Group and sits in the Uttorayon township. Its website describes it as a CBSE school and invites applications for 2026-27. The CBSE directory lists it at senior secondary level.
Admission note: Use the Apply Now link on the official site and ask the office about cut-off dates for your class.
Modi Public School, Siliguri
Modi Public School presents itself as a CBSE day-cum-boarding school. The CBSE directory lists it at senior secondary level, and the school’s site has admission and campus-life sections. If you are considering hostel life, ask for the hostel rules and visiting policy.
Admission note: Admission enquiries go through the school website; ask about day-scholar and boarding seats separately.
Sri Sri Academy, Siliguri
Sri Sri Academy describes itself as a CBSE English-medium day-boarding and residential school. The CBSE affiliation number published by its management group matches the CBSE directory, where it is listed at senior secondary level. The group page also mentions a new campus opening, so confirm which campus applies to your child.
Admission note: The website has a contact page with the campus address, city office and an enquiry form.
Auxilium Convent School, Siliguri
Auxilium Convent School is run by the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians, and its campus lies between the Eastern Bypass and Sevoke Road. The CBSE directory lists it at senior secondary level, but the school’s admission page describes it as ICSE approved, and we did not find a Siliguri entry for it in the CISCE locator. We could not settle the board from the sources, so please confirm the board and the classes with the school before you apply.
Admission note: When we checked, the home page carried a notice about the document verification schedule for Nursery admissions for session 2027-28. Check the Admission section for current details.
Immanuel International Academy
Immanuel International Academy appears in the CBSE directory at senior secondary level. Its website is brief; it links to the CBSE site, the mandatory public disclosure and a fee structure. We could not confirm further details on an official page, so treat this as an entry to verify on the school’s site and by phone.
Admission note: Use the Contact page for enquiries and ask for the mandatory public disclosure document.
How to choose a school
- Day or boarding: Several of these schools offer hostels. Ask about hostel capacity, rules and supervision, not just the school day. Don Bosco is a day school.
- Commute: Many campuses are on the outskirts, such as Matigara, Champta and Pradhan Nagar. Trial the school bus route and timings, especially in the monsoon months.
- Board: Seven of these are CBSE and one is ICSE/ISC. If you need ICSE or a state board, also look at the CISCE locator and West Bengal board lists. Check the Auxilium entry carefully.
- Classes offered: Confirm that the school runs through Class XII if you want a single school for the whole journey.
- Visit: See classrooms, labs, playgrounds and hostel blocks, and speak with parents of current students.
Admission process basics
Dates, forms and age rules change every year. Several of these schools open admissions months before the April session, and some publish schedules only as notices on the home page. Check each school’s admission page directly.
Expect to provide a birth certificate, address proof and photographs, plus previous school records for higher classes. Some schools hold interactions or tests, while others use document verification only. Ask what applies to your child’s class.
